A graceful garland of melodies woven by Celtic harp, zither and flutes… This is the debut recording of the Michael & Mead duo, first released by Nippon Phonogram in Japan in 1986, Fortuna Records in 1987 and digitally remastered in 2002 for improved sound quality. Enjoy it again for the first time!
Skillfully combining composed and improvised elements, Petals in the Stream remains a perennial favorite, inspired largely by David's love for the Celtic harp and containing some of his earliest compositions for that instrument. Randy's level of heartfelt emotion here makes for some his finest flute performances ever recorded. Members of the World Fusion ensemble, Ancient Future, (of which Randy himself was a member at the time) offer lovely guest appearances.
“A masterpiece of inspiration, talent and love! This gentle music has the feel of an ancient, magic fairyland where elves, unicorns and leprechauns dance together. Elegant, peaceful and majestic.”
— Kim Rodrigo, Heartsong Review
